Happy Red Scarf Day~ it’s all because of the Korra fandom. (Note: I don’t do a very good jerk impression. Just a big grin.)
If someone were to see my likes on Tumblr, they’d call me a hoarder. Just some food for thought.
It’s snowing and it looks like I have no class tomorrow. I’m willing to risk skipping my math homework… I mean, the worst thing that could happen is having school tomorrow… And not finishing any math…

I am back at school instead of napping for a whole week. But I still nap, however, my second period class in the high school is math, then I start my college courses. So of course I didn’t do my math homework over the weekend, so I go to school early so I can finish my math and then do whatever. It turns out that I finished my math pretty quickly and I had an hour to kill.
Worst hour of my life. Nothing to do. They don’t let you listen to iPods in the library. WHAT’S WRONG WITH MY SCHOOL?! I can do that in college libraries but NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL?
Well whatever. Math started then finished quick, then I went home to take a nap before my English class… I even set an alarm so that I could eat lunch and be all prepared. Big mistake, I turned off my alarm and went back to bed only to discover… I had less than 20 minutes to grab a bite, my books and then drive off to school, which is ten minutes away from my house. I had no complications driving. I was stupid enough to FORGET my schedule at home so I had NO IDEA where my class was. I was thanking my lucky stars that this was the CTC building and not the main campus… I won’t do this again. Phew
Seeing Dojima drunk just made my day (:

My brother left on his mission today. He is embarking on a two year journey to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in São Paulo, Brasil. My family is Brazilian and all but him speak Portuguese, but he understands like 72% of the language. My brother’s Tumblr page is theretrogamer.tumblr.com, obviously he won’t be updating in TWO YEARS but if any of you are interested, check out his blog.
I am going to start writing him letters every week and I am going to send him a drawing in each letter. Hopefully he will accumulate and save these drawings. I already slipped three in his backpack before he left. I didn’t take a picture of them, but I will add drawings on this blog before I send them away. I love him so much and he is the best big brother anybody can ask for. I know he will be such a great missionary and that this is all for the best!
I am studying for my history quiz tomorrow. Most teens could not fathom studying for an open-book quiz, but these quizzes have no mercy and show none either. My class is quizzed on two chapters, each at least 30 pages long, and less than 50 minutes to complete 30 problems. Mr. Forsyth was generous enough to give us 20 questions. I checked my iPod for the time, 16:25. I turn my chair around to look out the window and I see an orange colored sky. The sun is setting. Photography time! Was the first thought that came to mind.
I plopped off my office chair and grab my camera case, switch my smaller lens for the 55-200 mm one and run down the stairs. I slip on my hounds-tooth Roxy wedge-heeled boots and run out the front door. The cold December wind chilled me instantly, and a hoodie isn’t enough to keep me warm in 34-degree weather. I promptly ignore the cold and begin running up the hill of my neighborhood.
My destination was the small park where there’s more nature than houses. I want these pictures to turn out natural. At least that’s what the greenhorn photographer inside me was saying. I stand on one of the green knolls and pull my Nikon D3100 out of its case. I remove the lens protector and flip the switch on and turn the dial to landscape mode. Placing my left eye through the viewfinder, I begin to take an abundance of pictures of the orange-red shades the setting sun was producing.
The clouds behind the sunset look as if a celestial painter stroked his brush across the sky. East of the sun, the full moon is already up in the sky, as if to say “Can’t you set faster, sun so I could begin my night shift?” So after taking what seemed like a million pictures of the sun setting behind trees, I turn around and take photos of the moon behind some trees for an eerie effect.
I walk through the rocky trail and find the trail that leads to the adjoining neighbourhoods. I snap a couple of shots of that trail, and the photo turns out dark, giving the trail a cryptic look like those haunted forests that you see in movies. So I continue capturing breath-taking shots (That’s what the amateur inside me is calling these photographs) until my battery was nearly drained and I no longer could press the shutter button.
I didn’t realize how cold my hands were until I scratched the back of my neck where the strap was hanging from. I shiver a bit, then I clicked the lens protector back on and tuck my camera back inside its case. My history quiz won’t ace itself, I can take more when finals are over. I sighed, then turn away from the setting sun and begin jogging back to the park entrance…
Until I saw it. On top one of the dead trees perched a large spotted owl. My first thought was cool. I had to capture this photo, I had to. I pulled my camera back out, despite how numb my fingers were. My second thought, more like a prayer was Please, please PLEAAASSSSEEE let my camera have enough battery power to snap one photo of this owl! I press the shutter button, no focusing, no clicking. Then my camera went black. Crap! I was crestfallen that my faithful camera died on me…
Not that it mattered. The great owl spotted its prey and swooped down from the branch, then flew east, where the moonlight illuminated its shape. Then it dived into the tall grass to catch dinner. Or breakfast. It was too dark anyways… I told myself, then I ran back to the entrance of the park and made my way home.
I don’t usually pay attention to Facebook advertising, but that Portland Kendo Club ad sure caught my eye!
It’s raining today, I hate it. I want to go back to Orange County and soak in the sun, not soaking and sulking up in Clark County.
I wish every exam ended like this. Anyways, I am done with exams. I’m free until January 7!
